Cranio-Sacral
The body's response to physical shock is contraction of the bodily tissues and sometimes they continue to stay totally contracted. Stresses, twists, stretches, tensions and traumas that maintain in the body may limit the body function and cause problems over time.
During a treatment the therapist searches for the cranio-sacral pulse that normally is the cause of small, subtle movements in the different tissues – muscles, ligaments, connective tissues, organs etc. Injuries and pain may cause blockings in the system that the therapist can release through a gentle touch which will recover the normal degree of tension in the bodily tissue. When the blockings are released the blood circulation returns to normal, symptoms of pain are alleviated and the client may experience heat, tingling and a sensation of relief.
The treatment helps the body to self-recovery.
A cranio-sacral therapist is trained to notice these small subtle movements. It requires a very light touch and a thorough knowledge about how the body works.
